Welkom Industrial Controls has developed a Fence Surveillance System for one of our clients. This system is a top of the
range system, the best of the best. It uses FLIR thermal image cameras and day/night cameras with an industrial 1GB
ethernet backbone. There are +- 30 cameras in the system. All the network nodes have UPS’s with power energy and
SNMP cards in the UPS to record battery level, current and voltage. The power grid has a generator backup with auto
start ,stop and test functionality.
The system uses top of the range video analytical, to detect intruders. The information is stored locally and sent to an off-site
monitoring and storage system. The integrity of the system is monitored via a PLC and an SCADA base system to handle
alarms and events on the system. A PA to talk to intruders is part of the system. This uses the same ethernet backbone
as the rest of the system (video,audio,i/o and ups). We have taken security to a new level. PTZ thermal and day/night
cameras can be added to the system.
We also do more basic security installations. Day/night cameras with ethernet backbone is normally used. We can put
some intelligence to it by using a PLC system in conjunction with the cameras. We use products like FLIR, AirLive,
Mobotix and Video IQ. We feel that these products cover the market from low to high end. Call us to protect your assets.
